Mesh Swimsuit

The mesh swimsuit is one of the sexiest beachwear alternatives. This skimpy piece first came out in the ’70s. Like sheer bikinis, it can be extremely revealing when wet, less so when dry. This fact was seen by many when supermodel Cheryl Tiegs wore one in a photo shoot that later turned transparent after she hit the water.

One of the most amazing things about mesh swimsuits is that they’re “tan through”. This means while you are laying out soaking up the sun or even just strutting around in your barely there material, you are tanning the skin beneath your suit! It’s a win win if you ask me.

There are always going to people out there fighting tooth and nail to have some of the more scantily clad suits banned from the beaches. I say they are just a bit too reserved and maybe don’t have the moxie to wear a mesh swimsuit that in some cases aren’t quite hiding any of your hidden treasures.

I will never forget my trip to Jamaica in my early twenties. I made sure that I was hard bodied and tan for my trip. Ready to sip on some frozen cocktails while sitting on the white sand beaches listening to reggae and watching the beautiful clear waters. My girlfriend and I went shopping for out “vacation suits”. You know the special one you pull out for the occasion when you know you want to look extra hot. We went in to our local lingerie shop and BINGO! There was this super sexy, tie side mesh swimsuit. That thing was calling my name, and the names of every man in that store “looking” for a gift for their girlfriend.

When I wore that mesh suit for the first time, I was hesitant putting it on until I got a good look in the mirror heading out to the beach. I looked great, felt great and even felt a little naughty. I was daring to let my freak flag fly high and it paid off! I had one of the best tans of the season, almost full body (darn those straps) and I was more confident than I had ever been.
