See Thru Swimsuit

The see thru swimsuit can either be one of the sexiest outfits you will ever get to wear or one you will forever regret wearing. Although this piece will make you stand out with the rest of the beach crowd, you have to bear in mind that you must have the right body to sport a see-through piece of fabric.

Styles

Also called sheer swimsuits, this swimwear can come in a variety of styles such as monokinis, bikinis, tankinis, and bandeau-styled swimwear. You can also find sheer swimming outfits embellished with lace, flowers, and stripes that are sewn into the fabric to add more coverage.

Another variation is the faux see-through swimwear. This looks like a sheer bathing suit but actually offers more coverage than the traditional design. The fabric is lined with a nude or flesh-colored lining underneath to give the impression of transparency. You can also opt for one-piece swimsuits that give off an illusion of more exposure by having some areas lined with flesh-colored fabric. For example, some beachwear may have portions of the belly cut off and replaced by a flesh-colored fabric to give a sexier look without depriving you of the coverage that you want.

When to wear sheer

Because the see-through type of beachwear can be very revealing, it is more appropriate for a night party or when sun-tanning on your backyard. Some public beaches restrict the use of such design, especially in the presence of children and families on a beach holiday. You can always go sheer when sun-tanning by the pool alone. Other appropriate venues for this include a private Jacuzzi, a private beach, nude and semi-nude or adult beaches.

You need to have the right kind of body to pull off this kind of summer apparel. Although you do not have to have a supermodel figure to wear a see-through, you may find it hard to wear one if you are on the larger end of the scale. You will find that you will become more confident in this swimsuit after going through a simple exercise regimen or diet before trying on something as skimpy as this kind of beachwear.

Caring for your swimwear

Wash swimsuits with tap water and mild soap after using them. Remember to squeeze them but do not wring, for this can destroy the natural shape of your swimsuit, especially if you have one with padded tops. Never machine wash and machine dry your beachwear, as well as avoid the use of harsh detergents. All these can destroy the fabric and the color after just a few wash.
